I loved My Little Ponies, and I love this look book. I love that when I look at it, it takes me to a magical world where rainbows shoot out of the sky, and unicorns run down them with pink manes and their tails in plaits. Such is the feeling of getting lost at a music festival when you’re young and free and still believe in unicorns… I love Kimberly Gordon’s words in the original ilovewildfox post (read it here) as she fondly waxes lyrical about the joys of the festivals of her yesteryear, as she fills the dishwasher and plays with her friends one year old… oh how things have changed. Oh, how I hear you Kimberly!
I was gifted a pair of Hunter boots lately and I exclaimed, “Where on earth will I wear them? I don't make it to festivals any more!! And when I do I can only walk where I can push the pram – no gumboots needed!” (Side note, I accepted the boots in the hope they’d give me the extra little nudge to traipse once again through a muddy festival… come on Blues!!
I’ll echo Kimberly Gordon’s words (for not only do I share her sentiments, but she’s also a bit of an idol of ours) while you’re young, (and not pushing a pram around), get lost at a festival, traipse around in your gumboots, or barefoot on the grass, paint your hair and your face, muddy up the hems of your dresses, and most importantly use that festival bubble to become your alter-ego – wear that flowing Woodstock-inspired dress you’ve never worn in the city, wear that tasselled, pom-pom’d poncho, braid your hair and be that girl from 1969… because it’s your time.
